If you are buying factory ammo, Browning BPT 147 gr. is the best deal I've ever seen. If you can get 115gr. for under $10 a box, buy that. It's.

If you load your own ammo then 147gr offers a fairly large advantage over 115gr because you can control how they perform. Each gun performs differently so you.

I recently purchased a 1911 in 9mm and want to start testing some loads. I bought a small box of Berry's 124 gr plated RN. I know the 1911's can be finicky in feeding in 9mm. I have been testing 124 gr factory ammo. I will probably avoid the 115 gr and lighter bullets. In my 45 I use a lot of.

Jonnin. I would stick to one load for everything. I can and have knocked down the steel IDPA targets with my 9mm loads, which use a cheap lead .380 bullet (90 or 95 grains). Not saying to do the same, just that any bullet weight properly loaded can be very accurate and have sufficient energy to knock down the targets.

For your weekly indoor IDPA matches where distances can be a little shorter than outdoor IDPA matches (non – classifiers) – do you still prefer one 9mm bullet weight more than the others (i.e. 115gr. , 124gr. , 147gr. , etc.) in OEM box ammo – Or are you less inclined to care ? *My reason in.

Most of my favorite loads for 9mm are with 115 grain bullets and were just loaded to be reliable and accurate for range fun.

938 Avg. velocity for a power factor of 136. Will hold a 3.0" group at 50 yard from a sandbagged rest which is more than enough accuracy for most IDPA distances. Watch for bullet setback in 9mm. If the ammo is loaded to power factor, most people seem to prefer heavy bullets. I've shot mostly 130-135, but subsonic 147 might be a good.

Hi guys. I am a keen reloader so I would like to know from the masters / sharpshooters /experts out there which bullet weight in 9mmP would you prefer. I know I'm shooting a lead bullet of 124grains in my CZ-75, but my wife's G19 does not like lead, so I must reload some rounds to use in her Glock. Currently using Frontier 147grain flat points which seems to be ok, but I would still like to.
