WOW! It is amazing how much 223 case volumes vary. I took all cases tried to 1.750 cases like LC and Federal held 27 grains varget, and came just to the bottom of the neck. Cases GFL an S&B would not even hold 27 grains.
I have two 5 gal buckets of .223 brass. Brass is once fired and a mix of crimped and non crimped. Each bucket holds 3000-3500 cases. Will take 125 per bucket. Located in Hamilton County. Will travel up to one county out if needed. [/IMG] Thanks, Zach

I ran some numbers based on the dimensions of a home depot 5 gallon bucket, the dimensions of a. The maximum that could fit in the space of the bucket, assuming perfect packing is along the lines of cases. That would weigh 59 pounds plus the bucket weight.

I just got 1k once fired .223 casings in a 5 gallon bucket and it is about 1/4 filled. I will hazard a guess that you have between 4.5k to 5k in.

It's actually a floating #. The best way to measure I've found is to do it by weight. I can fit up to about 650 pieces of 223 brass in a gallon.

Approximately 3,700 cases and 50lbs. 5 gallon bucket of.223 brass.50+ pounds. ~75 cases per lb with primers removed. Done nothing to it, as in still has spent primer and dirty.

Can't get ahold of my normal buyer so up for grabs. 5 gallon bucket of fired .223/5.56 brass picked up from public range. All brass, no nickle. Commercial and mil mixed. Not polished. If memory serves a .223 case weighs about 100 grains. So thats about 3,500 pieces. I'll take it here.

All my other larger calibers and my special 223 loads are in ammo boxes so I know what I've got there but I did a bunch of 55gr & 62gr plinking/.
